I immediately send a check by overnight mail to make up for that bounced check and the bounced check fee.

TD Ameritrade froze the COMPLETE balance of $30,000 balance on MY Dad's account - not my account, but his account! without giving him or me any warning or notification, and bounced a check for $15,000. Yes, they hold hostage ALL of this $30,000 of settled cash just because my account was short by $50, even though I mailed them a check by overnight mail

To add insult to injury, they charged him $25 fee for bouncing his check even though there was twice as much in settled cash to cover that check.

They kept holding his money for a month long after the deficit was made

After 7 calls, talking to supervisors, and several letters, they still did not release the hold on his funds - it took filing a formal complaint with FINRA for hit to get access to his money.

Of course, we immediately closed both accounts and moved our money back to E*Trade and Fidelity.

Beware of TD Ameritrade! You can send money in, but they won't let you take it out! and they are going to be arrogant about it.
